About Us

I am Kenneth Pink, founder of Kon Makandra Helping Hands. I was born in Suriname, a former colony of the Netherlands close to Brazil Due to my mother's illness and the absence of my father, I did not have the most ideal childhood. But I got help and that made all the difference.

I now live my American dream. As a child I already feel the need to help others. I have always done this in my family but also for friends and acquaintances. Now I want to be able to help more people, because the need is growing in Suriname. That I can respond to this calling makes me humble and I thank God and all the people who support my initiative.

Our Foundation is called: Kon Makandra Helping Hands
Kon Makandra means in Surinamese Come Together.
Helping Hands means Helping Hands.

So Kon Makandra Helping Hands stands for: Offer helping hands together and that of course to those who need it.

We were founded in 2020, when, as a result of the corona crisis, poverty and loneliness became increasingly painfully visible, especially among senior citizens.
